Era Living is a private, Seattle-based company founded in 1987 by Eli and Rebecca Almo. A respected and recognized leader in retirement living throughout the Puget Sound, Era Living currently owns and operates seven established communities with one new development under construction. Each Era Living community is dedicated to providing innovative housing, programs and service choices for those who have reached the age of 62.

The distinctive retirement living communities feature upscale design standards that complement each community’s neighborhood. Era Living provides residents with premier healthcare services through a partnership with the University of Washington, School of Nursing. This collaboration with the nation’s top-rated nursing school highlights Era Living’s commitment to wellness and healthy aging. Types of Services Provided at Era Living Communities
  • Retirement Living Services – Offered at every Era Living retirement community, retirement living services include scheduled group transportation, housekeeping and linen services, recreation and group activities, daily checks and access to the community Wellness Center.
  • Assisted Living Services – Also offered at every Era Living retirement community, assisted living services include all of the retirement living amenities plus ongoing case management with a Registered Nurse and personalized care services from trained care team staff.
  • Alzheimer’s / Dementia Care Services – The Gardens at Town Square provides a supportive and therapeutic environment for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia and Ida Culver House, Broadview offers a specialized environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia as a part of the Health Care Center.
  • Skilled Nursing Care – Ida Culver House, Broadview offers a 74-unit Health Care Center featuring three specialized programs including Rehabilitation (short stay), Residential Care (for those needing long-term health assistance) and Cognitive Impairment Care (for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia).
Community Partnerships
  • University of Washington School of Nursing
    A long standing collaboration with the University of Washington School of Nursing, the nation’s top-rated nursing institution, assists Era Living in the design and management of resident health and wellness programs, at the same time providing students with opportunities for gerontological practice, research and education.
  • University of Washington Retirement Association (UWRA)
    A unique affiliation with the UWRA has provided for the development of retirement living communities for retired UW faculty and staff members, as well as the general public: University House, Wallingford and University House, Issaquah.
  • Seattle Education Auxiliary (SEA)
    A formal relationship established in 1989 with the SEA, Era Living developed Ida Culver House, Broadview, a community open to retired educators, their families and the general public. Era Living also operates Ida Culver House, Ravenna.
